Manufacture-birth, lifetime-use, end of life...
Now the law will lead actors to think about all these phases. Full of perspectives depending on where we stand on this time scale:
- Manufacturing: What is the impact of my manufacturing in terms of greenhouse gas emissions (often linked to energy used in processing) and natural resources extracted (materials, water, land use).
- Life: Repairable to better cushion the above impacts. Re-use to make the cost of manufacturing zero. Harms during the duration of use such as flying VOC particles that users will breathe once they have a painting or furniture at home.
- End of life: waste or circular economy?
